Várzea

This is a lovely place serving thoughtful and tasty dishes. We had a great time. Service was ace, house wine lovely .. one of the nicest dining experiences in the area.

After the demise of both Gulli and Cachoa, I thought I’d never find “my favorite” restaurant again. Well, last night, I did. Varzea in Aljezur has stolen my heart and my stomach. MY GOD!!! The food was Devine, with such original and tasty flavors nowhere else to be found in the western algarve. The staff were friendly, chatty and attentive, not to mention fans of Aerosmith. What more do you want? I can unequivocally recommend this bistro to anyone! Go find it, you won’t be disappointed! Very very good! We had a great swordfish and a delicious interpretation of codfish with two glasses of good red wine. Presentation and taste were great and the portions were really big. Excellent price-performance. Additionally the vegetables are mostly home-grown in their garden or locally bought. The service personal was very friendly, fast and attentive and rounded off this great evening. Definitely highly recommended!!!

We came here for lunch while passing through while walking the fisherman’s trail and staying at hotel across the street. Lovely light and airy atmosphere and nicely tucked away from the road. I had the swordfish which was cooked perfectly and served with a relish topping that complemented the fish nicely. This was served with a small chopped salad and 3 crispy potato patties which were both delicious. Presentation was thoughtful and appealing. My husband had the shrimp with egg and beans. The presentation was aLao appealing and my husband loved the dish. Meal was light and tasty but still was hearty enough to fill us up after our walk. Service was efficient and attentive.

Absolutely amazing food. Stayed locally on a cycling tour. Highly recommend. Fantastic service spoke really good English. Very fast and efficient service. Drinks are fabulous too.

We love this restaurant so much. The food is flamboyant and delicious. Very original take on Portuguese classics. Everything is superb.

Delicious delicious. Excellent selection of options — the chef delivers in many areas from the temperature of the meats to the complex dipping sauces. Best service in town. Cocktails!!!! House special is my favorite! Fun atmosphere with a hipster vibe. TIP: House special.

The best of service! I asked for an espresso martini (not on the menu) and their bar guy made it especially for me (his second ever attempt). Tasted amazing. Huge! And the food was excellent too. We both had different meat dishes and they were beautifully created with different sauces, salads and rice/potatoes. Nice atmosphere too. The tiramisu was nice - maybe some amaretto would have made it ever better.
